Maria’s home has the kind of architecture a lot of people would love to show off: a double-height great room, a skylight-lit staircase, tall black-framed windows. But the walls weren’t doing it any favors.
We kept the palette simple and neutral on purpose. With a space that already has this much natural light and architectural interest, the goal was walls that recede and let the windows, the skylight, and the fireplace do the talking. We painted the stairwell, the vaulted ceiling, and the main living area, working carefully around the black window frames and railings already in place.
The result is a home that feels brighter and more current without losing any of the character that made it stand out in the first place.
